The Dare to Dream System Kit: Mudras

Quick Relief…It’s In Your Hands!

Mudras – or hand yoga – are a simple, on-the-go way to bring calm and balance to the mind, as well as alleviate physical symptoms.

Mudras are more than just hand gestures – the word also implies sacred movements and eye gestures in Indian tradition – all of which engage body, mind and spirit.

The mudras in the video show hand yoga positions that can alleviate back pain which can occur when travelling.

Note:  The mudras in this video are similar to, but not the same as those used in the Dare to Dream System™ Kit

The Dare to Dream System Kit: Essences

Gentle and Effective “Flower Power”

poppy_flowersFlower and vibrational essences take advantage of the ability of water to hold information – energetic information provided by flowers, trees, animals, the environment, etc.

Essences are an excellent way to provide gentle emotional support when stress, injury or trauma upsets our inner balance.  They can also be used to support and encourage inner growth and development; any lower vibrations will be raised by the higher energy of the essences.

The video below gives some examples of essences which can help encourage improved memory, by providing a higher vibration – like that of a tuning fork.

Curcurmin….It’s Not Just for Curries!

We Know, but Forgotten We Know It!

Sometimes we need to be reminded that we already know the answers to some of our most pressing questions….

turmeric-on-wooden-spoon-and-in-jarI had long known (and used!) the properties of curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) for years as a therapist – I used turmeric essential oil in aromatherapy treatments with cancer patients for additional immune support and for its’ anti-tumoral properties.  I was also aware of its use in traditional Indian medicine or Ayurveda.  I also love using it when I make curries!

I had forgotten, however, another property of curcumin – that of having anti-inflammatory properties.

A lapse of memory that cost me years of unnecessary pain and discomfort…..

Having the Answer Before Knowing the Question

I had recently attended a roadshow for Simply Naturals and had been given a goody bag with various products, old and new, including Simply Curcumin, to give as samples to people.  I kept the samples, slowly giving them away as the days went by.  But for whatever reason, I held on to the curcumin; it was as if something inside me knew I had to hang on to it…

Simply CurcuminHaving found  no one to give it to, I decided to try it for myself – as I never recommend something to anyone I haven’t actually used myself, it was a good time to try Simply Curcumin for myself and see what happened.

I took the capsules as directed….and after about two weeks, I noticed something – the nagging on/off again pain from an old Achilles tendon injury was gone completely (and has not returned).  I only noticed because it was a damp, chilly day and I felt no discomfort!  The only thing I had done that was different from my usual routine was to take the curcumin capsules, so it was pretty safe to assume that it was the difference.

Then the penny dropped – and I realised that I had been literally looking at the solution to a years’ old problem for a while!  Sometimes, we just need to be reminded that we really do have the solutions to the challenges that we face, if only we take the time to think things through.

And so I’m sharing my (re-)discovery with you – for arthritic pain and inflammation, Simply Curcumin works beautifully.

Being Bendy: Avoiding Life’s Curve Balls

Flexibility is Key to Avoiding Life’s Curve Balls

beach-with-leaning-palm-treeIt took a series of little glitches for me to be forcibly reminded that life doesn’t always run smoothly – whether on a personal or professional level.

I also remembered that life, for me, is like a dance – and a good dancer is always flexible enough to adjust to any partner or any music! (and I pride myself on being a VERY good dancer).

Be Like the Willow (or Palm), Rather than the Oak

To use the analogy of trees, when storms come, it would be far less damaging to be like a willow or palm tree, which bend with wind, thus offering less resistance, than to be like the might oak, which, if the wind is strong enough, will just snap in two.

weeping-willow-treeWhen unexpected events occur, they will of course upset our routines and turn our lives upside down — sometimes in quite dramatic ways.  However, developing a more flexible attitude towards life in general means that we can ride out the ups and downs….instead of being drowned, we ride the wave.

When You Get Lemons….Make Lemonade!

I have come to understand, over many years of struggling with change and disappointment is that everything that happens is a blessing…and a lesson!

Quite often the glitches turn out to be an opportunity – whether to gain an insight into a situation or to move in a new (and hopefully more beneficial) direction.

virginia-live-oakI know this has been true for me — 8 years ago I nearly dropped out of my psychotherapy course – at the end! – because I felt I had wasted my energy and time.  But someone I’m convinced was an angel (I never saw him again after this incident) directed me to a group that supported Black African and Asian counsellors and psychotherapists.  That suggestion led me to create The Each One Teach One Mentoring Programme, which I administer and 8 years later, is going from strength to strength!

I could have remained bitter and angry, but decided to use that energy to create something that would last and would prevent other people from experiencing what I did during my course.  I decided to bend, instead of break!
